Day 217 of 365…

Oktoberfest and Harvest Celebration in Vancouver WashingtonGuess what? Vancouver Washington has it’s own Oktoberfest. That’s right, you can get your own “oom pah pah” right here. I’m not sure how I’ve this annual event has missed my radar all these years but I’m here to tell you about the Sixth Annual Oktoberfest & Harvest Celebration.

Oktoberfest Trivia: Can anyone tell me when the original Oktoberfest was first held?

It kicks off Friday night September 24th, 2010 at Shorty’s Garden and Home at 5:30pm. The main covered garden area will transform into a Bavarian playground of live music and a beer garden. You can wander the beautiful grounds of this nursery while enjoying a little bit of Germany right here in SW Washington. You’ll also be supporting our local libraries by attending as the proceeds go to them.

Advance tickets are $15 ($25 at the door) and on sale at both Shorty’s locations: 10006 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver WA and 705 NE 199th Street, Ridgefield, WA. I’d suggest you swing by and pick them up early and invite a friend as well.
