Tonight I’ll be seeing Earth, Wind and Fire in concert so I thought why not highlight our local Earth, Glaze and Fire on the same day. :)
What a cool place this is. This Uptown Village shop is worth heading in to spend some time at. When you go in you’ll find a huge selection of ceramic pieces to choose from. You’ll find dragons, sorcerers, plates, cups, saucers, ice cream cones, cupcakes, piggy banks, platters, skulls and more. They are constantly bringing in more product for you to be able to paint. Once you choose your piece you can start picking your paints you’ll be putting on it.
Here’s the amazing thing… Once you are done painting your ceramic piece THEY do all the clean up for you! That’s right, they do all the clean up. You get to do all the fun parts and they take care of the rest. They also add the glaze once you’re finished and fire it for you. You come back the next week and pick up your finished art. The idea and execution is very simple. Each piece is marked with a price and that’s the only cost. It includes the paint, clean up and glazing. Plus, the owners are awesome. They’ve recently revamped the shop and added all sorts of local ceramics for your enjoyment.
