Day 172 of 365…

Joe’s Place Farms. The last standing small farm hidden amongst the subdivisions, shopping centers, apartments and businesses of Vancouver, WA. This “little” farm has survived well over 50 years due to the love and dedication of Joe Beaudoin (and his family). Joes Place FarmsThere are photos on the walls in this quaint store showing him as young as 4 tending the fields and telling of him planting his first strawberry patch on the farm in 1955. It was then that he officially began selling to us, the residents of Vancouver, WA.

Joe’s Place Farms provides year round service through a variety of crops. We have all the fresh grown fruits and vegetables this time of year, you’ll find Fort Maze along with pumpkins to carry us through the fall and you’ll always find a huge selection of fresh cut Christmas trees in the winter. Inside the store you’ll also find a huge variety of Joe’s Place Farms jams, jellies, vinegars, syrups, honeys, baked goods and various other fresh items to round out the year.

If you enjoy picking your own stuff Joe’s Place has that option too. I filled a bag of Shiro Plums today and they are amazing. Super sweet, juicy and oh so fresh.

Mrs. Joe has also opened up her “Kitchen” on Saturday’s where you’ll find French Crepes and Italian Frittata’s. Mrs. Joe’s Kitchen is open from 9am to 2pm between June and September. These sound wonderful and I’ll likely be heading over there soon to give them a try. I know how wonderful all her baked goods are in the main store.

Joe’s Place Farms is located at 701 NE 112th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98684 and can be reached at 360-892-3974.
