The turtle may be gone (raise your hand if you remember the turtle) but Marine Park is still a great place to spend a day or evening. I hadn’t been to Marine Park in some time but had occasion to head over there tonight for a friends wedding.

I must say, it was very well kept. This 26 acre park has lush green grass, tons of extra wide paved trails for walking, running, roller blading, scootering, biking and whatever other form of transportation/exercise you might enjoy. It also has tons of wide open flat space for you to play Bocce Ball, volleyball, softball or just throw a frisbee. Plus, the kiddos can play on any one of the many play sets at the park for them. Maybe you want to bring your picnic gear and set it up. Go for it! There are a ton of picnic tables as well.

Marine Park is HUGE

The beauty is Marine Park is very close in and easy to get to. It is located just off of Highway 14 East of Beaches Restaurant. It is right behind the Water Resource Center on Columbia Way. There are no fees to get into the park unless you want to drop in a boat. I believe there are fees associated with the boat ramp (but don’t know how much they are).

Volleyball Anyone?

As I mentioned above, we were there for a wedding and I must say it made for a very nice setting. The service was great, everyone looked wonderful and I’d like to wish them a very happy and blessed marriage!

Beautiful day for a wedding
